PRESS RELEASE
2011-03-18 For an international action under local control !
International Monarchist Conference has most welcome the decision taken at night by the Security Council of the UN to take "all necessary measures" to protect civilians and enforce a cease-fire in the Libyan army and his mercenaries, including Chad.
Our relays in Benghazi, members and supporters of the Libyan Liberation Organization (OLA) and the Libyan Constitutional Union (LCU), showed a great relief regardinf the protection about civilian population as members of insurgency’s volunteer fighters.
International Monarchist Conference focuses on three points that seems most important.
First, it is most essential to keep quickly Benghazi out from Gaddafi’s forces. From our Libyan sources, we have indeed learned that the sounds of fighting are perfectly visible from some parts of the "capital of the rebellion."
As this city is a strong symbol of the insurgency and to keep it out from Gaddafi’s forces, military intervention must be conducted by troops sent by the member states of the Arab League which, remember, was the first to request such action in firts palce against the Gaddafi regime.
Finally, and because it is definitely not a neo-colonial intervention, the operational direction of the troops under UN mandate should be done under Arab leadership, ideally under Egyptian and Moroccan etat major.
It is under this only condition that the military and humanitarian intervention will succeed, and for all Arab-Muslim populations of the entire region to join the rebellion.
